Manage subscription & payment

This page is your control center for the subscription. Here you see at a glance which plan is running, and when the next payment is due, and you take care of everything else right along with it: update the payment method, switch plans, or cancel or reactivate. No support ticket needed, you handle this yourself in a few clicks.

In short: one place for everything that has to do with your subscription and paying for it.

Two ways, same result:

The video is in the works. Until then, the guide will get you there.

Different views

The page is split into several boxes, each one handling a single topic. And here is the trick: you do not always see every box. Which ones appear depends on the state your subscription is currently in, whether you are in the trial, have an active subscription, or have canceled.

So do not be surprised if a box from this guide is missing on your screen. That is on purpose. Trustlytics only shows you what matters for your situation instead of burying you in buttons you do not need.

Subscription

Your subscription is always in exactly one of four states. What you see and can do on this page depends on it:

Label State What you can do here
No subscription You do not see this page at all. You land straight in the plan selection.
🔵 (Trial) Trial End the trial immediately.
🟢 (Active) Subscription Switch the billing period, cancel, or change the payment method.
🟠 (Canceled) Subscription canceled Undo the cancellation.

We go through the four states one by one now. Find the one that applies to you.

No subscription

You will never lay eyes on this case on this page, for one simple reason. Without a subscription you do not get this far.

In that case Trustlytics takes you to the plan selection automatically before you can even use this page. Only once you have picked a plan there, be it a paid subscription or a trial, does this page open.

Why it is built that way: a management page for a subscription that does not exist would be an empty shell. Instead of greeting you with a page full of placeholders, Trustlytics takes you straight to where you have to go anyway.

What to expect in the plan selection and the other setup steps is described in the article Getting started with Trustlytics.

Trial

You are trying Trustlytics out right now. In the "Current subscription" box you see:

  • Price and billing period, so "CHF 7.00/month" or "CHF 70.00/year". Careful, that is not an amount due yet. It shows you what would be charged after the trial ends.
  • A blue "Trial" label
  • The "Cancel trial now" button
First things first: the 30 days cost you nothing. Your card is not charged during that time, no matter how often you sign in and no matter how much you try out. You can cancel on any one of the 30 days, on the first just like on the twenty ninth. Either way you pay nothing. There is no deadline to meet, no minimum period, and no hidden condition.

A charge happens in one single case: when you let the 30 days run out completely without canceling. Then the trial rolls over into a paid subscription automatically, and the amount from the "Current subscription" box comes due.

Subscription & payment: Trial - Trustlytics

But watch out with the "Cancel trial now" button. Now really does mean now.

Click "Cancel trial now" and confirm the safety prompt, and your access ends at that very moment. Not on the originally planned end date, not tonight, not tomorrow. The remaining trial days are forfeited.

An example: you start on March 1 and cancel on March 5. The remaining 25 days are gone, even though they would not have cost you a thing.

What does that mean for you? Only cancel once you are really done trying things out. If you just want to make sure nothing gets charged but still use the time, wait with the click until shortly before the end. It does not cost you more, and you get every day out of it.

The two routes side by side:

You do Access ends Cost
Nothing Continues as a paid subscription Charged on the expiration date
Cancel on day 5 Immediately on day 5 None
Cancel on day 29 Immediately on day 29 None

The "Next payment" box tells you when your trial runs out.

Subscription active

The normal case. Your subscription is running, everything is paid. In the "Current subscription" box you see:

  • Price and billing period, so "CHF 7.00/month" or "CHF 70.00/year". That is the amount actually billed to you and the rhythm it happens in. When the next charge is due is shown in the "Next payment" box.
  • A green "Active" label
  • The "Change subscription" button

This state gives you the most options. You switch the billing period, update your payment method, or cancel. Everything about that is further down in the respective boxes.

Switching the billing period (monthly to yearly and back)

You switch through "Change subscription". And here is the fair part: you do not lose anything you have already paid.

Switch What happens to your credit
From yearly to monthly The remaining part of your yearly fee is credited to your account and applied automatically to the upcoming monthly invoices.
From monthly to yearly The yearly amount is calculated on a pro rata basis, any existing credit is applied.
No fear of the wrong click: the switch is confirmed once more in a window before it takes effect. Tapping it by accident triggers nothing.

Subscription canceled

You have canceled, but you keep using Trustlytics until the end of the paid period. In the "Current subscription" box you see:

  • Price and billing period, so "CHF 7.00/month" or "CHF 70.00/year". That is pure information about the subscription you had. No further charge follows from it since you have canceled.
  • An orange "Canceled" label
  • The "Reactivate subscription" button

The "Next payment" box says this about it: "You canceled your plan on [date]. You'll have full access to Trustlytics until your term ends on [date].".

Changed your mind? No problem. As long as the period has not run out, you undo the cancellation with a click on "Reactivate subscription". Your subscription then keeps running as if nothing had happened. You do not have to sign up again, and you lose no data.

What happens at the end of the period? If it runs out without you reactivating, it is not just your access that ends. All collected data is deleted: your visitor numbers, every report, your goals, your events, and the entire history. That cannot be undone afterward, not by support and not with a new subscription. You then start from zero.

What you should do if you want to keep your numbers: export everything you need for your reporting or your accounting before the period ends. Afterward, it is too late. The date is in the "Next payment" box. Or reactivate in time. Then everything stays as if nothing had happened.

Trusty AI add-on (extra feature)

If the AI feature "Trusty" is available for your account, a box of its own appears for it. There you see your current quota, unlock unlimited use or cancel it again.

Because there is a fair bit to say about that, we moved it into a separate article: Trusty AI. It covers everything you need to know about the quota, unlocking, costs, and canceling.

What you will be able to do here in the future

This page grows with us. Soon you will also find here:

  • More add-ons (extra features) that you can book separately, the way the Trusty AI feature already works today.

There is nothing for you to prepare. As soon as these options are ready, they appear on this page by themselves.

Now and then a button for a feature that is not unlocked yet may be grayed out, with the note "Feature coming". That only means this option is arriving in one of the next versions.

Payment method

This is where you update what gets used for paying, for example, when you want to store a new credit card. Click "Update payment method".

  • The button briefly shows "Loading …" and then opens a secure payment window where you enter your details.
  • If something does not work, an error message appears. Then simply try again later.
Important with a failed payment: if you see a red "Payment failed" notice at the top, update your payment method right here. That way, your subscription keeps running without interruption, and Trustlytics stays available to you.

Next payment

This box answers the question you are most likely to ask: what gets charged, and when? The text depends on the state of your subscription:

Subscription state What it says here
Subscription active "On [date], [amount] (plus taxes) will be charged automatically to the payment method on file."
Trial "Your trial ends on [date]. After that, the subscription is charged automatically to the payment method on file."
Canceled "You canceled your plan on [date]. You'll have full access to Trustlytics until your term ends on [date]."

If you also use add-ons (extra features), further lines are added here with their next charges. That way you see every amount cleanly separated.

If your last payment failed, a red warning appears at the top of this box. That is your cue to take a quick look at the payment method.

Canceling the subscription (only with an active subscription)

If your subscription is running, you find a box for canceling at the very bottom. You see a red "Cancel subscription" button. After a safety prompt, the cancellation is done, and you keep your access until the end of the period you already paid for.

A cancellation always takes effect at the end of the paid period. So you lose no credit you have already paid and keep using Trustlytics as normal until the last day.

When the button is grayed out

There is one single case where the button cannot be clicked: when you recently switched from monthly to yearly. The whole year was billed immediately then, and canceling is only possible once that billed period has run its course.

In that case, you read: "You've paid for your plan through [Date]. You can cancel starting on that date, since the current term has already been billed." So the date named there tells you exactly when the button becomes active again.

This is not an error and not a lock: you paid for this period, and it gets used up. Trustlytics is fully available to you until the last day. From the date named on, you can cancel as normal.

After canceling, your subscription moves into the "Canceled" state. How things go from there and how you undo the cancellation is described further up.

What is in it for me?

Everything to do with paying in one place, without a detour through support. You see at any time which subscription is running, what gets charged next, and how long your access is valid. And you change what needs changing yourself: store a new card, switch the billing period, cancel or take a cancellation back.

That is exactly the kind of control you want when your own money is involved. No surprises, no hidden charges, no guesswork.

A look at this page pays off in two moments above all: before a trial expires and before you cancel. Because the first decides whether you get charged, the second decides what happens to your data.

Good to know

  • Payment and billing run through the secure external payment provider Paddle. Your card details are not stored at Trustlytics.
  • This page only exists with a running subscription or trial. Anyone without one lands in the plan selection automatically.
  • Important with a cancellation: when the period ends, all your collected data is deleted, meaning visitor numbers, reports, goals, and events. Save whatever you want to keep beforehand.

Common questions

I cannot find "Subscription & payments" in the menu. What is going on?
Then no subscription and no trial is running right now. Without either one, Trustlytics takes you to the plan selection automatically before you can use the application. How that flow looks in detail is described under Getting started with Trustlytics.

Is money charged during the trial?
No. Your card is not charged during the 30 days. Only when the trial expires without you canceling does it roll over into a paid subscription and the first amount comes due.

By when do I have to cancel for the trial to stay free?
Until the last day. There is no deadline several days in advance. Cancel on day 1 or on day 29, either way, you pay nothing.

What happens if I cancel the trial immediately?
Two things at once: no costs arise, and your access ends right away. The remaining trial days are forfeited. If you still want to try things out, wait with the click until shortly before it expires. It does not get more expensive that way.

There is an amount in the box even though I am still in the trial. Is that already being charged?
No. The amount shows you what would come due after the trial ends and in what rhythm. The charge only happens on the date shown in the "Next payment" box.

How do I switch from monthly to yearly or the other way around?
Through the "Change subscription" button in the "Current subscription" box. The switch takes effect immediately in both directions. Billing is adjusted right away, and credit you have already paid is applied.

Can I switch the billing period during the trial?
No. The "Change subscription" button only appears once your subscription is active. So wait for the trial to end, after that, the switch is open to you.

The cancel button is grayed out. Why can I not cancel?
Because you recently switched from monthly to yearly. The whole year was billed immediately in the process, and canceling is only possible after that paid period runs out. The exact date is right next to the button.

If I cancel, is Trustlytics gone right away?
No. A cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid period. Until then, you keep using Trustlytics as normal. The exact date is in the "Next payment" box.

I canceled by accident. Can I undo that?
Yes, as long as the period has not run out. The "Reactivate subscription" button appears in the "Current subscription" box. One click and your subscription keeps running as before.

I canceled but still see a price. Is something still going to be charged?
No. The entry in the "Current subscription" box only shows which subscription you had. After a cancellation no further charge follows. What applies until the end of the period is in the "Next payment" box.

What happens to my data when my subscription ends?
It gets deleted. All visitor numbers, reports, goals, and events disappear when the period ends. Recovery is not possible afterward, not even through support. So save what you want to keep in good time.

I canceled but want to keep my numbers. How do I do that?
Export them while your access is still running. Trustlytics is fully available to you until the end of the paid period, so you can reach everything. After it expires, the data is deleted.

I waited too long, the period has expired. Now what?
Then your access has ended and reactivation is no longer possible. You can take out a new subscription at any time, but you start with an empty account. The earlier data is deleted and cannot be brought back.

My payment failed. Now what?
A red notice appears at the top. Go to the "Payment method" box, click "Update payment method" and store a valid card. Most of the time an expired card is behind it.

Are my card details stored at Trustlytics?
No. Payment and invoices run through the secure external payment provider Paddle. Your card details sit there, not with us.

If I cancel add-ons (extra features), am I canceling my subscription too?
No, those are two separate things. Your Trustlytics subscription keeps running as normal, only the add-ons (extra features) end at the end of their period. Everything about that is under Add-ons.

Why do I not see some boxes at all?
Because Trustlytics only shows the boxes that fit your current state. A canceled subscription needs no cancel box, a trial needs no billing period switch. That keeps the page clear.
