Manage billing details

This page is explained quickly: here you store your billing address. Exactly the address that later appears on your invoices. Which is why one piece of advice comes right at the start, enter it completely and correctly. A wrong ZIP code only catches your eye once the invoice is in your mailbox, and by then it is a nuisance.

In short: five fields, fill them in properly once, save, done.

One thing up front, this is all a form

The same thing applies here as on the other settings pages. The whole thing is a simple form with five fields. You fill in what is needed, and nothing takes effect until you click "Save" at the bottom.

In practice that means: type in a new address, leave the page without saving, and the old entry is back. That is how it is built. So fill it in first, then one click on "Save", finished.

Address

Five fields, that is all it takes. Four of them are required, and one is optional:

Field Required? What to enter
Company Optional Your company name, only if you are a business customer. As a private individual, you simply leave the field empty.
Address Yes Street and house number.
ZIP code Yes Your postal code.
City Yes Your city or town.
Country Yes Pick your country from the list. The abbreviation is next to the name in parentheses, for example, "United States (US)".

Every field with an asterisk (*) is required. Only the company is optional. The reason is simple. That way, both businesses and private individuals end up with a clean billing address, without having to invent a field they do not even have.

Saving

Once everything is filled in, click the blue "Save" button at the bottom.

Leave the page without saving and your changes are gone. The most common stumbling block on this page. One click on "Save" and you are on the safe side.

What happens with this data?

Your billing address ends up where it belongs: on your invoices. We also pass the address on to our payment provider, Paddle, so that your invoices are issued correctly and with the right details. Nothing more, nothing less.

On rare occasions the following message can appear: "Billing address saved. Synchronization with Paddle was not possible, please save again later." No reason to worry. It only means your address is stored with us but could not be transmitted to the payment provider at that moment. Just open the page again later and click "Save" once more. That settles it.

What is in it for me?

Sounds like busywork, but it pays off exactly when it counts: at invoice time. If the address is right here, it is right on every receipt you need for your books. No fixing after the fact, no asking support, and no invoice with the wrong company name that your accountant hands back.

Two minutes filled in properly and you have peace for a long time. That bit of care is worth its money.

Good to know

You can change your billing address at any time. Just adjust it and save again. The next invoice arrives with the new address.

Common questions

Do I have to fill in the company field?
No. The company is the only optional field. If you are a business customer, enter the name so that it appears on the invoice. As a private individual, you simply leave it empty.

My change is gone. Why?
Because it was not saved before leaving the page, or a required field was empty. Check whether a red message appeared, fill in the missing field, and click "Save" again.

What does the message about "Synchronization with Paddle was not possible" mean?
Your address is stored with us, only the transfer to the payment provider did not work at that moment. Open the page again later and save once more, and then everything is in sync.

Can I change my billing address later?
Yes, at any time. Adjust the fields and save. From then on, the new address applies to your upcoming invoices. Retroactively it does not work: invoices already issued stay unchanged because an invoice that has been sent may no longer be altered for legal reasons.

My last invoice still shows the old address. What now?
That receipt can no longer be changed. If it is an error that causes a problem for your accounting, get in touch with support. For all future invoices, it is enough to update the address here.
